Description* :
I am not selling a kit, only new, full-size kit plans copies + parts patterns for a jasco thermic 50 from 1946 & 1960s jetco thermic 50 towline gliders + frank zaic's article on flying tow-liners successfully. Frank zaic's great old thermic 50 tow-line glider kit was the most desired free flight plane that we youngsters in the 1940s could have hoped for. The jasco kit is patterned after full-size sailplanes in elmira, ny in those days. It has a 50" wing span. The original thermic 50 did not have die-cut parts. So kids learned early on how to use a single edge razor blade to cut out all of the parts. Great fun back then. It kept us out of the pool halls. There were a few parts for which the patterns were not shown on the plans. These were the many 1/2-ribs between the main ribs which kept the leading edge beautiful and aerodynamic when covered with silkspan tissue. There was no leading edge sag back then because frank zaic was a master at designing fine flying machines. I made copies of all the balsa printwood parts sheets and include them with these excellent jasco thermic 50 plans. Later, by 1950, junior aeronautical supply "simplified" the kit plan into the jetco 50 kit version and included die-cut wing ribs, no wing spars and a 47" wing span. I am also including a copy of this simplified jetco 50 model plan. Since this plan does not show rib patterns, so i have made a copy of the balsa printwood rib patterns from my old kit. I am not selling a kit, only 2 new, full-size copies of kit plans from the 1940s & frank zaic's article. You are purchasing nice, clean, white personal copies of the original full-sized kit plans for both the original jasco thermic 50 + full parts patterns & the later jetco thermic 50 plus wing rib patterns, folded and in a manila envelope.
